Have A Mindful Day!

Pick a time that you can be calm and still. Arrange to be alone in a quiet space around the house or perhaps outdoors. I find my deck to be very peaceful. I have always been an early riser so my time is usually 6 am. I start my day by reading something inspirational. Or I write down an affirmation and recite it out loud a few times.

My mantra these last few days has been, “I am strong.” Then I scan the sky for a focal point. This could be a tree branch or a cloud. I take a deep cleansing breath and close my eyes for a few minutes. I scan the sky again a few times. I may be in awe of the crisp blueness of the sky or a bird in flight. Occasionally, I am lucky enough to see a butterfly hovering over a fresh bloom. This makes me calm for the rest of the day. I express my gratitude for the opportunity to be in the moment.

I found this quote and would like to share it with you.

“Look to the day! Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. in its brief course lie all the varieties and realities of your existence.: the bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty. For yesterday is already a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today, well lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. ”
